Notes regarding some of the options in the Setting & Cheats Screen:

B) Partial Immunity.
If selected protects you from everything apart from the Portcullis and Cauldron Spirit.

C) Mega Jump.
This cheat can cause some minor graphical glitches.

I) In-Game Sound.
This can be set to SFX only, Music with SFX or Mute. You can also toggle between SFX only and Music with SFX in the main game title screen (the toggle wont work if you have already selected Mute in the front end). The Music with SFX option does come with a very slight speed cost to the game (about 2%) compared to just using the SFX only option. Conversely, selecting Mute we give you a 2% speed up compared to the SFX only option.

H) Lock Maxium Game Speed.
Use this option to even out the speed difference between the busy and non-busy screens (This option wont slow down the busy screens at all on a stock machine). It will default to On if an accelerated machine is detected. It will also default to On if a C128 has been detected (The C128 version was running too fast for the sound fx to keep up!). There are a number of different speeds that can be selected or it can be switched off altogether.

M) Lower Diags On In Rotat Mode.
While testing the game in Joystick Rotational mode I noticed that having the lower two diagonals (joystick down & left and joystick down & right) switched on made the game play quite fiddly when trying to perform a jump and picking up an item at the same time. So I switched the lower two diagonal off in this mode only. It fixed the problem and improved the game play IMO. However, I added this option so you can switch the two lower diagonals back on (which is the same as the original version). Select NO (default) to switch the lower diagonals off or YES to switch them on.

F7 (Force C64GS Joystick Fire Button 2 Off).
If you have a C64GS joystick you can use the second fire button to pickup and drop items in Joystick Directional mode (you can also use the Space Bar). However, the front end will automatically switch the second fire button off if it finds a problem on the POT line that the second fire button uses. (You dont want the second fire button action to be on all of the time if there is a problem with the POT line or the POT line doesnt work with some of the newer replacement Sid chips for example). You can also manually force the C64GS second fire button off by pressing F7. You can toggle the setting on/off by pressing the F7 key. A Cyan border colour means the second fire button is off, a black border means the second fire button is on. This option is saved with all the other options if you use the save function. In theory you shouldnt need to use this function, but its available just in case.

T) Load Settings From Disk. U) Save Settings To Disk.
You can save and load all the cheats/options you have set. For example, you only ever need to adjust the settings once, save them and then use the Load settings from disk & start game option in the front end title screen thereafter. Please note that if you have more than one disk drive in use, the computer will always select the last used disk drive to save or load data to/from (the settings file that is saved is called klsettings).
